A day in Sienna

Today we took the bus from Florence to the smaller town of Sienna, out in the countryside of Tuscany. Here we got to see the hilly landscape for which Tuscany is famous. AND we got to the push Luc's stroller up and down the steep hills of Sienna.

We especially enjoyed the large central piazza, which in Sienna is an unusual shape, a bit like a large wedge that is broad across the bottom side. It is on a slopped hill, with the slope all filled in with brick, so people like to sit on it and it is loaded with coffee shops on the high side. At the bottom of the slope sits the beautiful civic hall, which is pictured here, with its tower.

Tomorrow we have decided to cool our heels in Florence. No museums--just kicking around the town and enjoying it.
