A very modern hotel in Porto

We have spent the last three days in the B&B Hotel Porto. B&B owns hotels in several cities. Outside the facade is a beautiful old building, so you are a little startled to find an ultra modern interior. We have had an interesting learning curve trying to figure things out. The entry to our room is by a key pad, with our own numerical code. Our room number plus the keypad code is also my access to the Internet.

When you first step into the hallway it is dark, and then the sensor turns low lights on so you can find your way. In the room, we are still trying to master the light switches, but a master switch has to be on for the other lights to work. Power is very expensive here so everything has been done to reduce power consumption.

The interior of the room is very streamlined and simple, but functional. The bed is quite comfortable. But there are four hangers in a small hanging space, with a small desk, but no drawers (no room for them). The hotel is also VERY quiet, so it has been well soundproofed.

Both the sink and shower have a liquid soap dispenser, which you squeeze to get the soap out. Lots of poking and pushing at the bottom of the dispenser before we figured that out! that's the fun of travel in different countries...learning to do things differently!
