Last night we overnighted at Mink Island, a privately owned island, though we didn't know that. A friend had suggested we could anchor there and we thought it was a Seattle Yacht Club outstation. Turns out that Phil knows a friend of one of the owners of the island, who was anchored another far from us in his lovely Oyster 53 sailboat. We rowed over to say hello and learned about the island.
This morning we had planned to anchor in the Copeland Islands, but the secure anchorages were occupied so we continued on to Sturt Bay at the north end of Texada Island. This picture shows us at the Texada Island Boating Club dock, with the opening of the bay looking over towards the mainland.
Tomorrow we cross the Strait of Georgia to stay in Comox.
