The travel start has been a little stressful, mostly for Shana, because her two cats are not very happy about the travel. She bought a large dog cage to put them in, in order to keep them from running loose in the. It is roomy enough to put their litter box in it and still have half the cage left for them to sit in. However. Because it sits low in the car and they can't see out, it turns out they prefer to crouch on top of the litter box, which has a cover with a hole in the center. It also turns out that one of them tends to get a little carsick and doesnt much like curvy roads. So far they are settling down after an initial bout of mewing and complaining, and Shana had not had to use the anxiety drugs she brought. We are hoping they will adjust as we go on.
Yesterday we came on to Nashville and last night enjoyed ourselves at a performance at the Grand Ole Opry. You see us pictured here in front of a large guitar out in front of the main hall. We had tickets to the 9:30 performance and it was HOT waiting--high 80's with bountiful humidity. The performance itself was fun, featuring 7 different performing groups, from very new country like Carrie Underwood to the older vintage Oak Ridge Boys, who closed the concert with their song "Elvira." A fun evening!
We enjoyed a scrumptious dinner before the show picked from Internet reviews of local restaurants, at the Mambu. Highly recommended if you ever get to Nashville. We shared an entree of pork schnitzel coated with caraway seeds and served on top of a cabbage and sweet potato vegetable sauté that was delicious. We topped it off with dessert--one of the best lemon tarts I have ever had. Great evening overall.
We are off today to the middle of nowhere--Russellville, Arkansas. It's the right distance, that's why. More info when I have something interesting to share.
