One of our favorite occupations while walking or driving is to be astounded at the things the Vietnamese can pile onto a bicycle, scooter or small motorbike. Here are a couple of examples. My personal favorite was in Hanoi, where someone was carrying a five foot mandarin orange tree on the back. You see small children asleep, complete with crash helmet fallen forward on the cycle. Merchants carry all sorts of goods and the only limit seems to be your ingenuity in tying the load on and balancing it so you don't fall over.
